Designed for green light line lasers. Can also be used with regular red line lasers.
Why are green laser diodes so expensive?
Green lasers usually have more components than the regular red lasers and have better diodes as well.
Why is green laser better than red?
Essentially, green light triggers a higher number of those 6 million cones inside the eye to react. In very bright conditions — such as at the range on a clear, sunny day — a green laser sight will be more visible on target than a red laser sight.
Green light
Green light at 555 nanometers is the most visible (100%). Most green consumer laser pointers and handhelds emit 532 nm light. This is perceived as being 88% as bright, compared with the potential maximum (555 nm light). For red light at 633 nm, the eye sees it as only 24% as bright as 555 nm light.
